On 09.06.2023 we left Stara Zagora for Mestra (district of Venice). Although the journey was long, it went quickly and pleasantly. In Mestra we spent the night in a Salesian complex. The next day (Saturday) began with prayer and breakfast then we left for Turin. There we checked into another Salesian complex where we were warmly welcomed and had lunch. After lunch we went to Brandon’s ordination which took place in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians built by Don Bosko. We can’t to describe the beauty of the basilica in words, so we hope the pictures will help :). After the ordination we celebrated together with our new deacon and his colleagues. We were shown around the Don Bosko Museum, built on the site of the first Salesian oratory. We learned many interesting details about the history of the building. The day ended with a celebratory dinner for Brandon and a walk around Turin. On Sunday we again set off on the road to Don Bosko’s home village, not far from Turin. There we visited his birth house which has been converted into a museum and the chapel next to it. We attended mass in the church next to Don Bosco’s birthplace, after which we had lunch and left for Mestra. When we arrived, we checked in and started walking around the old city of Venice, famous for its beauty. The weather was so nice that we didn’t need to shower afterwards because we were already “bathed”. Monday morning 12.06. we went back to Bulgaria.” animator Pavel
