“This year, the long-awaited summer camps for girls and boys, organized by the Salesian Fathers and their animators, took place again.
The boys’ camp was held from July 12 to 18 in the Karandila area above the town of Sliven. Boys aged between 7 and 15 from different settlements – Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Sofia, Yambol, Kalitinovo and others took part in the camp.
The main theme of this year’s camp was “The Creation of the World” and each of the days of the camp was related to what God created on that day. Some of the topics were related to the protection of the world.
During the camp we experienced many interesting, fun, instructive and unforgettable games and moments together. One day, we had the opportunity to get to know a few herbs, from which we then made tea. We took part in a full day hike to the Futulya waterfall located in the Karandila area. In the middle of the camp we had a night game, the purpose of which was to get to know ourselves in the silence and darkness of the forest. Each of us had to walk a pre-prepared section of rope in the woods and then return to the hut. Another day from the camp, we cleaned the area around the hut of garbage, and then made soaps with different scents, colors and shapes, which we took home as a gift for our parents and friends.
Last night, as at every camp, we made a campfire, where each of us prepared his own dinner, and for dessert we melted Marshmelol. We played and sang by the fire, and finally ended with a prayer of thanksgiving for the fact that we are all healthy and managed to have a good time with our friends.
